DIOR- An Exclusive Collaboration With Artist Pietro Ruffo

For refined end of the year celebrations, Maison Dior has once again teamed up with Italian artist Pietro Ruffo. We fell in love with the private collection and its Advent calendar. The artist imagined an enchanted winter night in Christian Dior’s favorite floral paradise called Le Château de La Colle Noire by creating a series of celestial motifs that infuse the Art of Giving Dior with the magic of Heavens, and mixing flamboyant animals and mythological figures.

Pietro Ruffo says ” To create this drawing, I imagined Christian Dior in his house gazing toward the Far North. Since the time of the ancient Greeks, we have always looked up to the sky, connecting these small golden dots, the stars, to create mythological figures. I made dozens of drawings of constellations and flowers that were around me. Then I cut them out and superimposed to create this composition. The engraving was done in gold in midnight blue background to evoke this idea of the magic surrounding the night of Christmas and the starry sky….”
